Obituary of Larry G. Miglianti
Larry G Miglianti 73, a life time resident of Delhi, passed away on Monday September 26th at home, with his wife of 41 years Margaret (Peggy) by his side.
Larry was born on September 6, 1943 in Delhi, the son of late Samuel and Ruth(Sharp) Miglianti. Larry was also predeceased by his two Brothers James Miglianti, Samuel L. Miglianti, and brother-in-law Joe Bayley.
He was married to Margaret (Peggy) Aitkens of Andes on July 19,1991.
Larry grew up in Delhi and attended Delaware Academy. He spent most of his childhood on his grandparents' farm on Roses Brook Road in Hobart, always helping his grandmother (Nauni) with farm chores, work horses, and her chickens. He was an active outdoorsman, finding any reason to be hunting or doing some type of outdoor activity. Larry loved to work with his hands building things, and working on his tractors, snowmobiles, and lawn mowers. He took great pleasure in mowing his lawn and plowing snow. Larry loved to tease and play jokes on people, always finding a way to have a good laugh.
His favorite pastimes included; riding four wheelers, three wheelers, snowmobiles, and was ready to take anyone who wanted to go. He loved to bowl and was participated in many bowling leagues in Delhi. He had a special way about him when it came to his dogs, each and every one was very special to him. Larry also took special pride in all his cars and trucks. Spending time with family and friends was important to him. He enjoyed drinking coffee and telling stories about old times, hunting, guns, and backyard barbeques.
Larry drove tractor trailer for several years, working for Ken All for 9 years picking up milk from local farms in Delaware and Otsego County, Riddell Bros. for 7 years transporting milk to Boston, MA, and transported milk for Coventry Transport for the last 10 years, driving to wherever they need him to go. He started driving in 1996 until and was forced to retire in December 2015 due to illness. Larry always spoke very highly of his Bosses and co-workers at Coventry Transport and said that it was the best place to work and appreciated the love and support they provided to him through his illness.
Larry is survived by his wife of 41 years Margeret "Peggy" (Aitkens) Miglianti; a son: William A Miglianti of Castleton; two daughters: Tracy Miglianti and Christie Miglianti both of Delhi; step-son: Rodney (Christie) Aitkens of Rotterdam; one sister Joyce Bailey of Duanesburg; two sisters-in-law: Julia Miglianti of Hobart, and Betty Miglianti; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; and his special nieces and nephews; Vicki (Paul), Pauly, Jeffrey and Ashley Moeller who brought much love, joy and comfort into his life.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 12noon to 2PM on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Delhi. Graveside services will follow at ValleyView Cemetery, Roses Brook Rd., South Kortright with the Rev. Burt More officiating.
