Obituary of Raymond Garcia

DELHI Raymond Garcia, 61, of Delhi, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011 at AO Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta. He was born on August 31, 1950 in Ventura, California, the son of Joe and Carmen (Zaragoza) Garcia. He married Barbara Schmiedel on December 29, 1996 in Oneonta. A resident of the area since 1988, Raymond was employed by the Delhi American Legion as a maintenance technician and cook. He was an honorary member of the American Legion and held the rank of Squadron Commander for the local Sons of the American Legion. Raymond enjoyed hosting large barbeques for special events and spending time with friends and family. He is survived by his wife Barbara and son Ryan Garcia of Bovina Center; sisters, Gloria, Connie, Kathy, Jeanette, Josie and one brother, Louie, all residing in California. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Joe. Friends are invited to greet the family on Friday, October 14, 2011, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi. A service and burial will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Macarthur Funeral Home of Delhi.
