Obituary of Kenneth Wilson

DELHI _ Kenneth (Buck) R. Wilson, 90, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown. He was a lifelong resident of Delhi, living most recently at Countryside Care Center, but also at Leisure Village and before that at his residence on Meredith Street in Delhi. He was born June 25, 1921, in Delhi, son of Robert and Irene Wilson. Buck married Marion Avery on Aug. 20, 1944. Buck served in the United States Army during World War II, stationed at the Panama Canal Zone. Buck was a member of the Teamsters, Local Union No. 18, and worked most of his career driving tractor trailers, hauling milk throughout New York. He spent his last years of work as a dispatcher directing other driver's daily trucking schedules hauling milk products throughout the Northeast. His last employer was the dairy operation in Frasers. Buck was a member of the Delhi Masonic Lodge, Delhi Fire Department, where he served as chief for many years, as well as a Delaware County Fire Coordinator, a member of the Delhi College Golf Course, and a founding member of the Balsam Mountain Hunting Club. His passion over the last 25 years was his love of golf. Buck was predeceased by his wife Marion; sisters, Gertrude Hoag and Readith Constable; and son-in-law, Larry Ogborn. He is survived by his daughter, Dale Ogborn, Chittenango, and his son and wife, Edward and Nancy Wilson of Dryden. In addition, Buck is survived by grandchildren, Rhonda, Stacey, Carrie, Julie and Holly; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, in the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi, with the Rev. Jim Hicks officiating. Calling hours will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, with Masonic Services at 5 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.
