Obituary of Gregorio Procida
BLOOMVILLE _ Surrounded by his family, Jan. 16, 2012, Gregorio Procida went to be with the Lord.
He was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Bayonne, N.J., son of Mario and Enes Procida. He had two brothers and three sisters.
Gregory met Marion Chiaramonte and they wed on Nov. 15, 1942, in Flatbush, Brooklyn. They had three daughters.
At 22, Greg enlisted into the Air Force where he served his country, and served with the Merchant Marine in Brooklyn which he enjoyed very much.
He worked from age 6 selling bags and shining shoes. He was a "jack of all trades" and master technician. He had a passion for all animals. He also enjoyed hunting and boating.
Anyone would tell you he was a great man and loving father. He left a lasting impression with everyone he came in touch with. He will be missed immensely.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; loving daughter and caregiver, Enes; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and close family friends.
He was predeceased by two sisters; Rose Marie Procida and Rose Romano; and one daughter, Angela DelPrete.

Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Hobart.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, in the Sacred Heart Church, Stamford, with Father Michael Cambi, as celebrant. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Stamford.
