I met John in 1970 at SUNY Delhi. We were both avid engineering students, and, at the time, recent Vietnam veterans. But above that, we became fast friends. And once, we even contemplated going to Africa together, to fight, for one year, as mercenaries. But that didn't happen, and after school, our lives drifted apart. I saw John a little over a year ago, for the first time in decades. I'm so glad I got to spend some time with him; we drank a few beers. My deepest sympathies...Mike Sivilli

My thoughts and prayers are with Johns family at this difficult time. I work at the County Clerks office and got to know John through there. He was a great man with a great sense of humor always had a joke to tell and talk about his boys and the ski trips. He will be greatly missed.
