Obituary of Robert H. Kirk

DeLANCEY _ Robert H. Kirk, 73 of DeLancey, passed away Friday, April 6, 2012, at home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born Oct. 24, 1938, in Walton, the son of Merwin D. and Catherine H. Kirk. He married Elma H. Kirk on June 21, 1997, in Oneonta. Robert was a retired maintenance employee at the Delaware County Office Building, Delhi. He was a member of the Oneonta Moose Lodge and he was an avid baseball card and memorabilia collector. He is survived by his wife, Elma, at home; a son, Robert D. Kirk of Marlboro; a daughter, Cheryl Berardi of Skaneateles; step-sons, Kenneth (Ann) Aikens of Delhi and Kirk (Amanda) Aikens of Schenectady; brothers, Merwin Kirk Jr. of Stamfordville and Walter Kirk of North Carolina; sisters, Zilla Mallein of Carlisle, Pa., and Louise Kirk of DeLancey; four step-grandsons, Conor, Logan, Parker and Landen; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will take place on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the MacArthur Funeral Home, Delhi. Following calling hours, the funeral will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Bert More officiating. Burial will be in Hamden Cemetery, Hamden. Contributions in his memory may be made to Delhi Animal Shelter or Catskill Area Hospice, Delhi.
