Obituary of William Billy Hook
William J. "Billy" Hook, 67, of Main Street, Delhi, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Fox Hospital, Oneonta.
Born on January 9, 1949 in Brooklyn, Billy was the son of the late George "Charlie" and Freidabel (Krieger) Hook.
Billy was married to Janell (Huntley) Hook on June 25, 1981.
Mr. Hook was a career truck driver working for DeMatteo Salvage in Long Island for many years until his retirement.
Billy enjoyed motorcycles, working on and riding bikes was a passion for him. He was a mechanic at heart, if it could be fixed or built Billy would find a way to accomplish it. He was a man of few words, but when he shared advice with his family it was respected. Billy enjoyed life and shared his happy disposition with all that he knew. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren, he was a proud grandfather.
Besides his wife, Janell Hook of Delhi, Billy is survived by his sons: Jason Hook of Delhi, David (Anita August) Hook of Delhi, SSG Brett (Claudia) Bazaar (US Army) of Ft. Drum and SFC Sean (Alisha) Bazaar (US Army Ret.) of Spokane, WA; seven grandchildren: Adreanna, Ashley, Destiny, Marco, Giada, Isabella and Sophia; two brothers: Stephen Hook and Richard Hook; a sister: Betsy Brown; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held at 2PM on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at MacArthur Funeral Home, 131 Main Street, Delhi. Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family one hour prior to the celebration at the funeral home.
