Obituary of Michael E. Moody

Michael E. Moody, 62, of Delhi, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a long and courageous battle.

Born on August 10, 1956 in Walton, Michael is the son of the Elden H. and Sandra H. (Hoyt) Moody.

Mr. Moody was a graduate of Delaware Academy class of 1974 and of SUNY Cobleskill class of 1976.

He was married to his wife of nearly 40 years, Annette Kelly Moody on Sept 23, 1978.

Mike was a Dairy Farmer, he owned and operated Hectic Farm in Delhi, later he was a school bus driver for Delaware Academy Central School until illness forced his retirement.

He enjoyed farming, gardening, maple sugaring and watching horse pulls. Mike was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather.

Besides his father, Mike was predeceased by a sister: Cathy McGovern; and a nephew: Matthew Mellott.

He is survived by his wife: Annette Moody of Delhi; mother: Sandra Moody of Delhi; children: Wayne (Maria) Moody of Hobart, Kimberly Moody of Erie, PA and Donald (Tracey) Moody of Meridale; grandchildren: Paige and Brynn Moody; sister: Karen (Bob) Mellott of Gilbertsville; and nieces: Corey (James) Hernandez and Cheryl (Peter) Simon.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on the family from 4-7 PM on Monday, September 3, 2018 at The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints, Delview Terrace Ext., Delhi, where a funeral service will be held at 11AM on Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Delhi.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mike may be made to Delhi EMS or to the FFA at Delaware Academy.
