Condolences
Jack and family, So very sorry to hear about June. My prayers and sympathies go out to you. June was such a presence. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. I enjoyed the video tribute, especially the pictures of her as a young person. That is how I remember her. We played together as children because our fathers were the best of friends. God bless.
Jack, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I know just what you are going through as you know I recently lost Joe. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I'm so thankful I was able to see both you and June in July at our class reunion and enjoyed dining with you and having a nice visit.

We have such fond memories of our times skiing with June as ski patrollers at Bobcat. The gang would stay and drink pitchers of beer in the lodge after a long day of skiing. Many times Tim would close up and we took the party to the hotel. I wasn't fond of beer so oneday June arrived with ice cream and all the fixings for sundaes, much to my disappointment all the beer drinkers devoured my ice cream. We had so many laughs together on our ski trip to Austria. Thanks for your friendship and the good times.

June and my Mom shared a passion for skiing and après-skiing. I have fond memories of our post-ski afternoons/evenings at BobCat watching the adults toast to their days on the slopes while we ran wild around the lodge. June was a sparkling presence throughout my childhood in Bovina and a dear friend of my mother's, so my memories of both women are forever entwined. She was our go-to phone call when my brother Danny and I hatched a plan to surprise my parents with an anniversary party. June helped us get organized and assured the silence and stealth of the party-goers, who helped us all successfully surprise my parents. June was a bright, bright light of Bovina. She will be missed.
I just remember her always smiling face in the 70's when I taught at Andes. A beautiful lady.:skin-tone-4:
One of the best things that has happened in our lifetime was staying as guests at Jack and June's Country House Bed and Breakfast one snowy New Year's weekend. We came as guests and left as dear friends. Thank you for all our good times together. We will cherish those memories always !
God Bless,
Steve Macaluso and Denise Andrejko
June was certainly a great GAL. Although words offer small comfort in this time of sorrow, we do wish to express our sympathy.,

I have fond memories skiing with June and Jack from 1958 or so thru 1964 at Plattikill ski area....riding in the VW Bug thanks for being so kind to a young kid at that time. Howard (Butch) LaFever
Aunt June will always hold a special place in my heart. She is the first person to come to my aid at Bobcat after breaking my leg on Pepacton when I was 7 years old, comforting me all the way down to the lodge. And how lucky were you to get invited to stay at her house on an overnight as a little girl? The bright smile and twinkling eyes - I looked forward to visiting with her and Jack each August when I was able to come back to Bovina. What a sad loss. My prayers are with all of the Burns family.
Love, Lis Finn Collins
When I heard of June's passing my heart skipped a beat while fond memories flashed through my mind. We had many memories of happy times spent together with June .....skiing at Bobcat and our get togethers. June always had a joke to tell...I use to wonder how she remembered all of them. She was one of a kind, with her bubbly outgoing personality.
Rest in peace June.....you certainly will be missed.

Jack - You and June were always supportive and a lot of fun. Here is a photo of you two with Janis Reynolds and Millie Johns, helping the ACS Class of '71 celebrate one of its reunions. It was a good time. We'll miss June. Please know that Tom and I and also the folks in the Class of '71 are thinking of you. - Jo Ann Kaufman

Doug and I are two of the fortunate people who were able to travel and ski with June and Jack. We'll honor those memories and the lessons June taught us. She knew the power of humor. She could joke a little, laugh at herself and laugh at life. She was never mean and wasn't too interested in gossip.
One day on a ski slope in Vermont it was getting late and the chair lift which took us to another mountain back to our rental broke down. It was getting dark, it was getting very cold and there was a long line of people who were getting anxious. We started to sing songs and encouraged everyone to join in, which they did. That sense of play is what we will remember. Thank you , June, for leaving a legacy of how to work hard but also how to nourish ourselves by having fun.
With gratitude for all you did.

This is a photo of June Burns and my mother Ann, taken in the late 70's probably on the town flat on Bovina Day. I have this photo posted on our office bulletin board at home. It is always a favorite of mine. June recently passed away this week and I immediately thought of this photo. To me it always felt like it captured June's spirit. A fun lover who was very welcoming to those in the community. My mother befriended June when my parents moved to Bovina and they each shared a love of skiing. I can remember my Dad getting annoyed at Ann and June because they'd be living it up (i.e. drinking beer) after a long day of skiing at Bobcat, when he would want to go home already. I remember my siblings and I calling June, "Aunt June" - even though we weren't related to her. She was that kind of person and she will be missed by me and the community. She embodied the spirit of Bovina. Here's to you June!
We are so very saddened to hear of June's passing. She was a huge part of our early years in Delaware County. The face we always were most happy to see making beautiful turns down the slopes at Plattekill. Drinks with her and Jack and the rest of the crew. Thank you June for those wonderful times. Dick and Jenny
We would like to express our deepest condolences to Jack and also to Jack and June's families. June was a wonderful, compelling and comforting person who made my family feel part of this community. At any town event or party we would seek them out for conversation and fun. We will miss her. The Mills family
SO,SO, Sorry for your loss...it is tough to say goodbye. Hold on to all your fond memories of June. that is what will get you through for sure.
Many good memories growing up. Bobcat ski center. Skiing and summer events. Always put a smile on my face. My condolences to Jack and the whole Bovina community.

My first memory of June was at a birthday party for Betty Kleptar. It is strange what memories come to your mind when you go back. It was a great day and from that day on I knew that June was such a good person. Jack and June were at all our class reunions and were such fun to be around. June and a few of our classmates met at Delaware Academy and had a tour of the school. A lot of changes and all of us shared our memories of going to school there and all the different experiences we had. I am so blessed to have known June and send my prayers to Jack and family. Marion Miller Platt
I will always remember June as one of the friendliest, outgoing, fun loving person that I knew in Bovina. Her humor was unending and she always had a smile on her face. Condolences to her family. Sincerely, Gloria Hall
June was a great lady and my childhood memories are sprinkled with her kindness and friendship with my mother Ann. My thoughts and prayers are with Jack and family.
June was one of the most fun loving and caring people I've known. She brought a caring presence to all the students at MCS where I first met her in the early 1970's. We shared lots of laughs and good humor in school and out, on the social occasions we got together. That girl and her husband Jack worked hard and played hard. God Bless June and God Bless Jack and family....
I have so many memories of fine conversations with June. Kindly accept my deepest sympathy for her loss. Mary Jo Doig, Batesville, VA,
In the 1950's my family (the Damgaards) and the Reinertsen family spent several vacations together in New England and Canada; those were wonderful times. We looked up to June and her outgoing, friendly ways. She was a large part of my parents' lives, and I always admired her loyalty to Bovina and its people. Sending comforting thoughts to Jack and Marie and Norma and the rest of the family. Jeanne Damgaard Taylor
Jack, Walker and I are truly sorry for your loss. We, like the rest of Bovina, share this loss with you and June's family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
Sympathy to Jack Burns and family.. From fellow skiers Chuck and Charlotte Winkler Smith. We always enjoyed conversation with you and June. Most recently on Dingle Hill as few years back at my sister Anne Winkler and Tom Barrett's homestead. RIP June.

One of my favorite memories of June dates back to Bovina's Sesquicentennial celebration in 1970. She and Jack did a perfect 'American Gothic' and managed to keep a straight face the whole parade route!
